About Me
Carol-Ann Silvestri
I am a single mom, high school teacher, caretaker and paper artist. A Rhode Island native, I grew up in North Providence, attended Bishop Keough High, and graduated from CCRI in Radiography. I then attended the University of Rhode Island pursuing my bachelors degree in Human Development and Family studies. As an Alan Shawn Feinstien recipient each semester, in return I had to do 30 hours of community service. I taught card making classes at the North Providence Library. I attended Providence College, and received my teaching certificate in General Science and Biology.
I have always loved doing arts and crafts. I feel my second grade teacher, Miss Castelluci, knew I loved art. She would always ask me to organize the art closet. I dabbled with sewing, ceramics, embroidery, and scrapbooking, but my passion is creating with paper, ink, die cuts, embossing folders, and of course, bling!
So when I was thinking of a name for my business, many ideas came to mind. I wanted it to be catchy but true to “ME” and the products I would be making. As many of you know, my initials are CAS.
Throughout my many life experiences, I have always been a maker. I am now at a point in life where I have the opportunity to integrate my love of design with my creations. Thus CAS Cards And Sweets was born.
The lightbulb went off: CAS -: the first letter of my products!! I thought it was pretty awesome (or geeky) to have my initials represent my small business. I love being Creative, Ambitious, and Simple. (CAS again!). I also have an addiction to paper, bling, and ink. The handcrafted items are either my original ideas OR inspired by my surroundings. All items are hand stamped and made with love.
I also wanted a symbol to represent me...this way when at a craft show or on labels...the symbol would represent me. The “DAISY” explains who I am!!
